Orange SocksWhen you spend every day walking with your head down, you tend to observe a lot of feet. Specifically, shoes and socks. I counted, one day, how many pairs of Nike shoes I came across. 38. Out of 56. But that doesn't really matter. You don't really learn anything about someone from just their shoes. I mean, sure, their shoes can be impeccably clean. Or incredibly worn out. Even the brand tells you a little bit about the person. But that's not much at all. So I also look at socks. There is the plain white, or plain black for formal wear. Occasionally, I'll come across something awesomeOrange Socks

Same house, late at night, a few weeks later. The lights in the house are off, and the room is barely illuminated by moonlight. A key clicks in the door and the deadbolt unlocks. Enter Gabe and Katelyn, both wearing dripping wet jackets over their clothing. Gabe is carrying a light load in a few Safeway bags.
GABE Sorry the place is a little messy, I'm still gathering up things to be packed or given away.
KATELYN It's fine.
GABE I won't be able to drive you home, I don't have a car. Michael took it with him to a boardwalk in Avalon.

The scene opens on the living room of the Philadelphia home where Gabriel lives at 2:35 PM, Tuesday August 15th, 2006. There is a gray mottled couch stage center just upstage of a wooden coffee table. A matched set love seat and chair in the same pattern sit on either side of the coffee table. The house interior wallpaper and design seems approximately 30 years old, though how old it actually is is up to interpretation and property availability. A few paintings depicting forestry and meadows and other such greenery hang perfectly straight on the walls. One large digital photograph of Downtown Portland - taken

If someone like you found someone like me,
Then suddenly nothing would ever be the same,
My heart would take wing and I'd feel so alive,
If someone like you loved me...

The rape of a nation:
It starts with hundreds of puppets;
Their lifeblood pounding within them,
An uprising against hate and greed and evil;
Against the very things they themselves create in a rage of intolerance.
